Taking his title from the Irish word for ‘awareness’, Enda Bowe’s series ‘Teannalach’ conveys the mix of hope and vulnerability embodied by teenagers within a rapidly mutating (sub)urban Ireland. ‘I felt the youth was where Ireland’s true hope and optimism could be found,’ he says in the accompanying statement. ‘They carried a fresh confidence, independence and an assertive style unlike generations before them. The brightness of this new generation stood out against the grey background of new urban developments.’ See www.endabowe.com
